Carbon Neutral Aldbourne was set up to help the transition to low carbon living.

We are doing this by inspiring and encouraging individuals to take action and by setting up and supporting local projects.

How big is your carbon footprint?

Your carbon footprint is a way of showing your carbon emissions. There are a number of different factors that affect the size of your carbon footprint. The food you eat, how and where you travel and how you power your home all contribute to your impact on the planet.

Carbon Neutral Aldbourne is currently carrying out a footprinting project in Aldbourne to get a baseline figure for our current emissions. This will help us to set meaningful reduction targets and measure our progress each year.

If you live in Aldbourne you can take part by visiting our carbon footprint page. If you are not in Aldbourne but would like to calculate your carbon footprint you can use the WWF footprint calculator.

Finding out the size of your carbon footprint is a great place to start when thinking about the actions you can take. You can also check our top tips to help you make the biggest impact whilst reducing your carbon footprint.

Declare a Climate Emergency

Addressing climate change, habitat destruction and resource depletion are issues that we should all be taking a stand on. The UK Government has recognised this by declaring a climate emergency. Many councils across the UK, including Wiltshire County Council and Aldbourne Parish Council, have done the same.

Individuals need to support their aims by committing to reducing emissions and working towards carbon neutrality as quickly as possible. Start now by declaring your own climate emergency.
